Portmadoc, July 1960

These three images are a recent addition to my slide collection, I can't claim credit for them, they were taken well before I emerged on the scene!  I felt that they should be shared with others rather than them disappearing forever into the dark drawers of my collection, so they have appeared here as soon as I was able to undertake the necessary digital restoration to the images which had suffered the usual ravages of time.

The slide mounts are marked 'July 1960' which appears correct as the pictures post-date Taliesin's change of livery in 1959 (the domes and boiler were previously black) and pre-date the renaming of 1961. 1960 was Prince's last season before being withdrawn for replacement of the cylinders and visible strengthening of the frames, returning to service in July 1962.
