Armley Mills Industrial Museum, Leeds

Leeds Industrial Museum's collection of locomotives was started many years ago with the custodianship of the Thomas Green locomotive 'Barber' from the Harrogate Gas Works, preserved by the Narrow Gauge Railway Society.  It was not until relatively recently that a permanent home was found for the museum's exhibits, with the opening of the museum at Armley Mills in the Aire valley west of the city centre.

In 1994 a visit to the recently opened museum found the former John Knowles 18" gauge Hunslet well tank 'Jack' in steam, restored to exhiibition condition.  At the end of the mixed gauge demonstration line was a collection of unrestored items, a former WD Hudswell Clarke 0-6-0T caught my eye.
