Portmadoc & Tan-y-Bwlch, June 1965

A week from the time of writing this piece, the 2004 Vintage Weekend will take us back 40 years to the railway running to Tan-y-Bwlch and works trains higher up the line.  A small number of photographs recently added to the collection offer a window on this period, showing the Festiniog in June 1965 at both Portmadog and Tan-y-Bwlch with Prince and Merddin Emrys in traffic.  Not strictly related (and not even narrow gauge or even the same occasion!) are a couple of photographs of Blaenau Ffestiniog in October 1966 which may be of interest.
