All Change At The Talyllyn - September 2004

A year ago a short visit to Tywyn coincided with the preparations for clearing the Narrow Gauge Railway Museum before demolition.  Almost exactly 12 months later I made a return visit to see how things had moved on.

The already cramped layout at Wharf has been further restricted throughout the whole 2004 season, with a shortened platform, no loco release, loop or locomotive servicing facilities.  The railway has had to revert to 1951 style operations with trains being propelled to and from the loop at Pendre, only being at Wharf for as short a time as possible as they block the walkway from the platform to the café while the occupy the platform.
