Super Power Weekend, September 2005

This year's visiting locomotive came from the Llanberis Lake Railway who had provided Hunslet Quarry Tank 'Elidir'. She was kept busy running up and down the yard giving footplate rides all weekend.

By Saturday afternoon Elidir was being accompanied by K1 exercising up and down the road to the goods shed. As I had not seen K1 in motion before, I stood mesmerised by the odd sight of the motion visible from head-on due to the inboard cylinders; it conjured up images of Class 08 shunters running up and down a goods yard with their outside cranks going ten to the dozen!
