Ffestiniog Vintage Weekend October 2002

Boston Lodge was hosting a pair of visitors. 'Velinheli' from Launceston was at one point sporting 'Indian Runner' nameplates, promoting Paul Lewin's project for new-build engines. Alongside was 'Welsh Pony' having a day out from it's usual home at Minffordd and getting a polish for the occasion. Later at Harbour station David Lloyd George arrived with a down slate/goods train, reminiscent of Merddin Emrys working down slate trains in the 1940s. Palmerston removed the goods vehicles from the back of the train to allow an up slate train made up of the entire restored slate wagon fleet, an impressive sight slowly heading out along the Cob
