Ffestiniog Vintage Weekend October 2002

A spot of creative thinking by control meant that although the long up slate hauled by both England engines was no longer possible (Palmerston and slate wagons were at Blaenau instead of Porthmadog!), the long gravity finale could still run. Palmerston brought the freight train back to Dduallt and a spot of hand shunting was done in the fiddle yard at Dduallt. Prince brought the other half of the rake up from Porthmadog and the two rakes were combined to form a final gravity train which descended round Dduallt Tank Curve in the gathering gloom.
